Pergolas and Arbors
A wooden pergola gives the yard structure without closing it in
Wooden pergolas and arbors built on site for Austin backyards, plus tree houses, playscapes, gazebos and sunrooms and screened porches from the same crew. Free design consultations, and quotes usually back with you in five days or less.
Chapter 01
An open yard doesn't always need a roof, it needs a shape
Not every backyard problem is about blocking the sun completely. Sometimes a patio, a fire pit or a gravel sitting area just reads as unfinished, an open stretch of yard with nothing marking it as a place to be. A solid roof would close it off. A pergola does the opposite: it frames the space with posts and open rafters overhead, filtering the light instead of blocking it, and gives the eye something to land on from the kitchen window.
An arbor does a smaller version of the same job, usually marking an entry, a gate or the transition from lawn to patio rather than covering a whole sitting area.

Wooden Pergolas and Arbors Add Interest to Your Yard
We build pergolas and arbors in natural wood, drawing from Western Red Cedar, Ipe, Tiger Wood and Mosorunduba depending on the look you want and how much weather that part of the yard takes. Posts go in first and get plumbed and anchored, beams run across them, and then the rafters get spaced across the top, either tight for more shade or open for more light through.
Every one is built on site in Austin rather than shipped in as a kit, which is what lets the spacing and the finish actually match the house and the rest of the yard instead of looking dropped in. Where the City of Austin or your HOA has a say in it, we handle that permitting on your end, and the work carries our five year structural warranty and two million dollars in general liability insurance same as everything else we build.
Chapter 03
The same crew builds more than pergolas
This line covers more ground than pergolas and arbors on their own. We also build tree houses and playscapes for the kids, gazebos as a freestanding structure of their own, and sunrooms and screened porches when you want the space enclosed rather than open. It's the same carpentry crew and the same on-site build approach across all of it.
One pergola customer, Diana, wrote: "I wish there were more stars to give! Great craftsmanship, outstanding communication process, no surprises throughout the process resulted in us being absolutely happy with our deck. Definitely hiring this team again for other carpentry jobs to be done, and can't recommend enough!" We'll walk the yard with you, talk through what you're picturing, and put together a free design consultation, usually with a quote back in five days or less, and we can typically meet or beat another builder's estimate by five to ten percent.
The same carpentry covers a lot of ground beyond a pergola: Treehouses, Playscapes, gazebos, and Sunrooms or screened porches all come off the same bench and the same crew.
